Use this interactive template to capture the current state of critical roles, visible successors, readiness assessments, development actions, and retention risks. Fill only the candidate rows you need — each row becomes an actionable item for talent review and development planning.

How to use

  • Complete the top reviewer fields to timestamp this review.
  • For each critical role you want to assess, set Include = Yes and complete the fields for that row.
  • Use the readiness and retention risk categories to surface priorities during talent reviews.
  • Use the development plan field to record specific actions, owners, and timelines.

Suggested review cadence

Pick a cadence that fits your organization and risk: Monthly for high-risk roles, Quarterly for most leadership roles, Biannual for lower-risk positions.
