Communication Canvas: plan messages that land
A fillable one-page template to craft concise, audience-centered messages for updates, decisions, or vision — save drafts, reuse them, and track whether they landed.
Communication Canvas
Use this quick canvas 5–10 minutes before an important communication or meeting. Focus on the audience, a single clear message, why it matters, and a measurable request. Saving drafts lets you reuse wording, share pre-reads, and later review what worked.
Tips: Keep the core message to one sentence. Make the call to action specific and measurable (who, what, when). Choose the simplest channel that reaches the audience. Consider a 1:1 for sensitive audiences and an explicit pre-read for decision meetings.
Example (short): Audience: Field technicians — concerned about safety and downtime. Core message: We’re changing the lockout/tagout sequence to reduce injury risk. Why it matters: Safer work + lower chance of unexpected downtime; failing to follow will increase incident risk. Call to action: Supervisors must complete the new LOTO checklist for all shutdowns this month. Channels & timing: Plant toolbox talk tomorrow morning + written pre-read via email tonight.
