Service Packaging Template — Turn Projects into Repeatable Offers

This guided template helps you turn one-off projects into repeatable offers that sell more predictably and deliver more consistently. Fill the fields below to capture a clear target client, a tiered outcome ladder, deliverables, time budgets, onboarding and acceptance criteria, optional add-ons, and simple cost estimates so you can evaluate margin and pricing. Use the help text for practical formulas and pricing tips.

Tip: Start small — one clear offer is better than many half-baked ones. Aim for a Basic → Standard → Premium ladder where each tier adds measurable value and a predictable time commitment.

Describe the ideal client, their role, industry, company size, key pain, and what success looks like for them. Be specific: the clearer the profile, the easier it is to sell.
Write a short outcome statement the client would recognize, e.g., 'Reduce lead qualification time by 50%' or 'Consistent monthly revenue from 3 evergreen offers.'
Give the entry-level package a clear name that signals scope and price anchor (e.g., Audit, Starter, Sprint).
How much you will charge for this tier. Consider a round number that is easy to justify and sell.
List concrete outputs the client receives (reports, hours of coaching, files, templates). Be specific so scope is clear.
Estimate how many hours of your time (or your contractors') this tier consumes, including preparation and follow-up. Use conservative estimates to protect margin.
Describe the steps to get started and the objective criteria by which the client accepts the work (e.g., delivered report + 1 feedback round).
List things clients can add for extra fees (extra hours, premium support, templates, implementation). Include price ideas if you have them.
When might this client need more work? Suggest a retainer trigger or upsell moment (e.g., monthly health-check, quarterly refresh).
A middle option that balances value and margin.
Price for the Standard tier.
A premium option with higher price and priority service.
Examples: software subscriptions used for all clients, templates you license, platform fees.
Examples: subcontractor fees, printing, travel, paid ads tied to this job.
This is the effective cost of one hour of your time (not what you charge). Include desired compensation, taxes, benefits, or contractor rates as applicable.
A simple goal for gross margin on each package. Common small-business targets range from 30% to 70% depending on the model.
Describe anchor pricing, discount rules, payment terms, and any value-based statements you will use to justify price. Examples: payment plans, deposit required, limited-time offer.
Formulas you can apply after saving: - Estimated delivery cost for a tier = fixed portion allocated + variable costs + (time_budget_hours * your_hourly_cost). - Gross margin (%) = (Price - Estimated delivery cost) / Price * 100. - To set price from desired margin: Price = Estimated delivery cost / (1 - desired_margin_percent/100). Write these numbers into the cost fields and adjust price or scope until margin and time look realistic.
Write a short set of scope-control clauses you'll copy into contracts: what is included, what counts as change requests, hourly rate for out-of-scope work, and approval workflow.
A short, customer-focused sentence you can use on a landing page or discovery call. Focus on benefit, outcome, and credibility.
Examples: run a $0–$50 ad to an email signup, offer to 3 past clients at a 'launch' price, deliver one to a friendly customer for feedback, or run a short webinar.
