One‑Person Business Operations Audit

This interactive audit helps you quickly map how your one-person business actually runs, where time and money leak, and which fixes will have the biggest impact on stability and capacity. For each section, select a health score (1 = critical fragility, 5 = robust/redundant) and add brief evidence or observations. When you save the audit, your responses are stored so you can revisit progress, compare audits over time, or export your results.

Scoring rubric: 1 = urgent single point of failure or major gap; 2 = weak with high risk; 3 = workable but brittle; 4 = mostly solid with small gaps; 5 = resilient, redundant, or automated. Use the notes fields to record facts (percent of revenue from a single client, tools you rely on, where you spend your time, cash runway, etc.).

Consider number of distinct customers, % revenue from any single customer, diversity of products/services, and predictability.
1.0 10.0
List revenue sources, percent of revenue per client or product, recurring vs one-off, and any upcoming renewal or churn risks.
How reliable and repeatable is service or product delivery? Are there documented steps, templates, or checklists? Is quality consistent?
1.0 10.0
Describe typical delivery steps, bottlenecks, manual handoffs, and any repeat issues or missed deadlines.
Assess tool sprawl, single-vendor lock-in, manual data copying, and whether automations exist for repetitive tasks.
1.0 10.0
List key apps, where data is duplicated, what integrations exist (or don't), and credentials or single points of failure.
Do you capture onboarding steps, proposals, templates, pricing logic, and customer history in a reusable place? Could someone temporarily fill in for you?
1.0 10.0
Point to documents, folders, wiki pages, or describe gaps in captured processes or decision rules.
Consider cash runway, invoicing reliability, expense control, clarity of margins, and whether you regularly review cash flow.
1.0 10.0
List cash runway, average days to get paid, recurring expenses, and any financial controls or surprises you've encountered.
Do you have clear contracts, insurance where appropriate, intellectual property clarity, and recorded obligations?
1.0 10.0
Summarize contract templates, recurring liabilities, NDAs, insurance, and any pending legal matters.
How dependent is the business on you personally, a single client, a single platform, or one critical tool?
1.0 10.0
List top single points of failure and any documented contingency plans.
Are you spending most time on high-value work? Is capacity predictable? How sustainable is your current workload?
1.0 10.0
Where do you spend your time (sales, delivery, admin, learning)? Include typical weekly hours.
Enter your average working hours per week.
Name up to three highest-impact risks (e.g., 70% revenue from Client A; key CRM only in your account).
Check the areas where improvements would most reduce risk or free your time.
For each action include a short description, owner (you or contractor), and target date. Example: 'Create 1-page onboarding checklist for contractors — Owner: me — By: 2026-07-15'.
1 = guesswork; 5 = evidence-backed. Helps you know if you should gather more data.
