Preventive Maintenance — Weekly Checklist

Use this checklist once per week (or at the start of a busy period) to catch early signs of equipment failure, record actions taken, and note spare parts needed. Enter temperature readings where requested. If you find a critical issue, use the escalation questions at the end to notify maintenance immediately.

Enter the Monday (or start date) for this weekly checklist. Use ISO format so reports sort reliably.
Kitchen name, line, or area (e.g., Main Kitchen, Catering Prep, Line 2).

Quick diagnostic: indicate whether ovens appear to be working normally or show issues.
Use an accurate probe thermometer. Typical target depends on your recipes — record at least one measured setpoint.
Examples: uneven heating, strange noises, door seal gaps, display errors, slow recovery.
Use this to flag parts procurement. Check items you recommend keeping in stock for faster repairs.
Record whether cooling performance and doors look normal.
Record the thermometer reading. Note: safe cold holding is typically < 41°F for refrigerators and < -10°F for freezers; follow your policy.
Quickly inspect gaskets, hinges, and automatic closers.
Examples: frost build-up, warm spots, gasket damage, excessive running noise.
Check wash quality, heating, leaks, and cycle errors.
Record if applicable. Many machines require a sanitizing rinse at specific temp — check your equipment spec.
Examples: poor wash, low pressure, leaks, burner or element failure, clogged pumps.
Check oil containment, pilot/burner operation, and controls.
Low oil or clogged filters cause poor cooking and stress the equipment.
Examples: slow heat, flame instability, thermostat issues, excessive smoke.
List any other critical equipment and brief observations.
Choose 'Yes' to request immediate maintenance attention and complete the emergent issue details below.
Be specific: what failed, impact to service, whether equipment is out of service, suggested immediate actions (close station, switch to backup).
