Food Safety Audit — Compact Interactive Checklist
Purpose
This compact audit helps teams quickly assess inspection readiness and capture high-signal issues that need immediate correction. Complete one short audit per location/shift and record any corrective actions. Save responses so you can track trends and reduce surprises at official inspections.
How to use
- Walk the operation with the checklist open — aim for 10–15 minutes for a typical small kitchen.
- Answer the yes/no items and add quick notes for any nonconformity.
- If you identify a red-flag (critical) issue, take an immediate corrective action, record it here, and notify the manager on duty.
- Enter a simple category score to summarize condition (0 = unacceptable, 5 = excellent).
Inspector FAQ Primer (quick reference)
- Bring temperature logs for the last 7 days; show calibration records for thermometers.
- Be ready to show cleaning schedules, sanitizer concentration checks, and employee hygiene records.
- Have supplier invoices / lot codes available for recent incoming products.
- Clearly label open food with prep and discard dates and be prepared to demonstrate FIFO in storage.
Quick pre-inspection staff checklist
