Leadership Launch & 30‑Day Checklist

This short checklist helps leaders and teams launch the 90‑day journey with the essentials—nothing fancy, just what reliably moves work forward.

  1. Confirm the outcome and sponsor: Make sure one leader is visibly sponsoring the work and one owner is accountable for the outcome.
  2. Run a quick diagnosis: 6–10 short interviews and a quick metric review to confirm the highest‑leverage problem.
  3. Set one outcome and 1–3 leading indicators: Write them down and commit to tracking them weekly.
  4. Create the core team and appoint a librarian: The librarian captures experiment notes, decision records, and playbooks.
  5. Schedule the cadence: Weekly 30‑minute learning huddle and a monthly stakeholder review—add them to calendars now.
  6. Build an initial experiment backlog: 3–6 experiments with owners, hypotheses, and success criteria.
  7. Set up simple reporting: One visible place for metrics and a short weekly update (dashboard or shared doc).
  8. Define where learning will live: A team wiki, knowledge base, or shared folder. Agree on a single place and naming conventions.
  9. Agree on decision rules: How will you decide to scale, iterate, or stop an experiment? Make these rules explicit.
  10. Plan the first two weeks: Kickoff workshop, experiment assignments, and the first weekly huddle agenda.
  11. Communicate the plan: Tell stakeholders what success looks like and how they’ll get updates.
  12. Protect the team’s time: Sponsor ensures the core team can focus on experiments and huddles during the 90 days.

Use this checklist to create enough structure to learn fast without making the effort bureaucratic. After 30 days, review cadence and workload—then adjust for the next 60 days.
